Fall 2007 Portfolio Part II - Abstracts
In past years I've spent a lot of time traveling to Vermont and looking for really stunning color and landscape
possibilities. But I wasn't able to travel much at all this fall. Instead, I looked to the local, usual, familiar and tried
to find a good fall perspective for it. Here's the final four:

There weren't many peak red trees around this year, but plenty of red nonetheless (lower Mystic Lake)
From my backyard in Arlington - this leaf is still there, by the way
A quirk of wind and geometry keeps my garage clear of falling leaves. Not so for my neighbor.

Fall 2007 Portfolio Part I - Landscapes
As I take so many pictures, I now have a set of running portfolios in Adobe Lightroom. By using the 'collection' mechanism, as it's called, I can start up arbitrary collections to stick photos in. For example,
I am taking pictures of a fake wolf in Waltham whenever I happen to drive by and it looks interesting. So when I'm looking
over the day's pictures, I can just stuff the selects from those dog photos into a dog collection and move on. No real animals
are harmed by this process, although Jenevieve is concerned. Derrick, well, let's not talk about Derrick right now, OK, because, you see, he didn't make it. It's a long
story and I'm not going to tell it now.
Anyway, I am now convinced that winter is well and truly upon us, there's no reason to hold back the rest
of the fall photographs that made it through my own vetting. I have a total of 14, but I've already published almost half
through blogging. The remaining eight are nicely divisible: four traditional landscapes and four more abstract, close-up photos.
So for tonight, enjoy the last four landscapes from fall 2007.
