Bird Watching
Don't get any rude ideas, it's not what you think. I took a walk this morning to clear my head, and found this little
scene.

The LNG Tanker
Mayor Thomas Menino of Boston has been very outspoken in his concern about LNG tankers passing through Boston harbor on their way to the terminal in Everett. Now that I work on
the waterfront, I see what he means. I looked up from my computer today to see this through my window.
And there it is, one of the LNG tankers on its way out into the harbor after (presumably) unloading all the gas. Here's
a wider view of the ship.
In case you can't tell, this ship is absolutely enormous. It feels like you can reach out and touch it. Don't believe
me? Here's what it looks like from the parking lot.
OK, well, so Menino is upset because he's worried about the threat of someone attacking the ship. I worry about it a
bit too, because this ship sails close enough to my office to put it near or inside the range of the inferno that would result.
There is security though, although I think it's better if I just show you some of it rather than talk about it.
Even though I'm being a bit coy about it, this is far from a private event - anyone who works near the harbor witnesses
it on a weekly basis.

A Couple More London Pictures
I've been traveling a lot recently, and bringing my camera with me. Sometimes I see interesting things and take pictures,
and sometimes I don't. But I have a rare quiet moment to haul out a few recent ones. This is a little park near the office.
A lot of parks in London are only open to local residents, and literally locked, but there are many, many nice open spaces
too, like this little jewel near Marylebone Village.

I stayed in a new hotel this last trip, and it was in a pretty interesting neighborhood. But there is interesting architecture
all over the city, and a lot more contemporary, modern styles. The perspective on this next one is a little wierd I admit,
but I did not have a way to level the camera when I took it.

Man, Has It Been Awhile. Whew.
A few weeks ago, Kara, Katherine, Alex and I went to a wedding in Western Massachusetts. Katherine had
a really pretty dress, and man did she have a good time. We played outside quite a bit because the area was really pretty
and it was a nice mild sunny day.
After dinner the dancing started, and Katherine went nuts. She was acclimating while we were eating, and by the time
the DJ started up, she was ready to go. She danced all night long. She danced with everybody she could. At one point, the
rest of the dance floor made a circle and she danced in the center of the circle for a whole song. Here she is with some of
the girls from the wedding.
