Oh and another thing...
It's not like my day started out any better than that. I got up to go to the bathroom at 7ish, and Kara asked me
to unlock the saftey gate on Katherine's room, which I did. We do this, because if she is locked in, she'll go to the
door and start making a fuss. But if she's not locked in, she'll hang out in bed, play, and so forth, and we get an
extra half-hour of sleep.
But anyway, so I go back to bed, and fall asleep. Some, hazy, indeterminate time later, I am fuzzily aware that
Katherine has now gotten up, and is in the room playing with Kara by and on the bed. And I roll over onto my back to
attempt to shake the cobwebs off. And Katherine jumps right into my, er, lap. So now I'm basically semi-conscious,
in pain, and incapacitated, all before 8 AM.
Kara let me sleep for another hour, but she didn't feed the cats or lock the gate at the top of the stairs, so Piggie
came upstairs, jumped into bed, and licked me until I woke up.
I hate that.

Daddy is ANGRY with me!
Oh, and you bet I was, after this little episode. Katherine was having naptime, which either involves taking a nap,
or at least playing by herself in her room. If you had told me there were three tubes of paint in her room, I wouldn't
have believed you. But it turns out there were three tubes of paint: black, red, and green.
So I'm in my study (the next room over), with the monitor, and I hear her asking for help. She is talking about
lovey, but I am not sure what she wants. Actually, what she wanted was for me to clean up lovey. Even she could
only hold it by the tail.
Needless to say, Daddy was very angry.
She was trying to be sweet and cute, because she knows I'm pissed. This naptime gig is one of the few times I get
to do anything for myself during the day, and so I'm doubly pissed. I had to spend an hour cleaning up (and I haven't
done all the laundry yet, let's call it 2 hours), and I lost a bunch of time today. I know that this is actually pretty
funny; I'm just not ready to laugh yet.

Where's That Sex Offender Sign Again?
I don't know if there's still one in front of the Medford Transcript, but I did see one today in West Medford Square in front
of Blue Hydrangea and KenCo Printing, on High Street (Route 60).
There are supposed to be two signs at some point, and I don't know if this is the first or the second. The list
of people has not changed -- it's still the same six.
Mind you, I'm not spending my time driving around looking for the sign - I live near West Medford Square, and noticed
it driving through. I just find it interesting, that's all. I tried to talk to both shop owners, but the Blue
Hydrangea folks were out, and I didn't see anyone in the printing shop.

Some Camping Memories...
Ah, field camping. It's unbelievably hot in the daytime, and wet in the morning and evening. How I love it.
It was a lot of fun. Yes, there were some bugs, like this one here. I figured I had to take some documentary-type
pictures, and I had some free time on my hands on Saturday, when I begged out of a family outing to Storyland so I could stay at camp, take some pictures, and relax a little bit. I'd been working for like 48 hours straight getting
ready for the trip.
Katherine had an amazing time, from what we saw. Even though we had a few cheap toys like this one lying around.
I've never seen that spelling before. But there were a lot of families there, and a lot of kids Katherine's age, and
she played with a lot of them, and had fun non-stop from dawn to dusk. Sure, there were a few bratty moments, but there
were so many exciting things for her to do that she was generally really well behaved, which was awesome.
We spent the fourth on the Saco River, and then at a pig roast at our host's house, complete with live music afterwards.
The we got up and got the hell out of there, because the rest of Massachusetts needed to get back on Monday too.
Tell you how dicey it is. We got up early, packed, and left, and we were on the road at around 10:45 or so, I think.
The Spaulding was already slow in sections, but we just drove until it widens out, then we took a quick stop for biology and
such, and drove home.
Some friends of ours stopped off to buy Dunkin Donut's coffee, and then a little later to look in a store (no more than 15 minutes, tops, at both locations). It took them
two hours longer to get home than us, even though they were directly behind us for the first 15 miles or so.
Ouch. Anyway, yesterday was a blur. Camping is fun, but it's not a vacation in the restful sense, so we all
crashed hard yesterday. Katherine was amazing. She was so well disposed after such a stimulating weekend, that
she puttered around the house with us, talking and chating and being really, really, nice. I mean, thank you for this,
"Daddy may I" for that, and so forth.
Today, she is back to normal.
